fetus2.jpgAcupuncture and Infertility

Infertility can result from many different factors, both male and female. Some of these we have control over, including lifestyle, diet, nutrition, and stress levels. Others we can influence but have less say about, like anatomical problems, hormonal imbalances or genetics. At Summit Chiropractic and Rehabilitation PC, we help to maximize those factors which are within your control and help to accommodate for those which you have less influence over.

Creating balance in your body, physically, chemically and emotionally is the 1st step to a successful pregnancy. Though Chiropractic and Acupuncture do not treat infertility directly, but they do help to restore homeostasis in our bodies, which, along with appropriate lifestyle changes, can help result in a successful pregnancy.

sperm.jpgAcupuncture has been making a splash in the fertility arena in recent years 1, especially in the area of in vitro fertilization 2 , intracytoplasmic sperm injection 2, embryo transfer 3,4  and assisted reproductive therapy 5.  It has shown to also have an effect on sperm impairment 6,7. Auricular acupuncture (ear acupuncture) is cited to be a valuable alternative therapy for female infertility due to hormone disorders 8,9.
