Acupuncture for Addictions and Detoxification
Addictions, whether they be drugs, food, smoking or behaviors, can be difficult to cope with. They are disruptive to our lives, jobs and families. A supportive environment at home and in the work place, a healthy diet, nutritional supplementation, counseling when needed and a strong desire to succeed are all necessary components of any recovery program.

Acupuncture and auricular acupuncture are useful tools for a treating substance abuse 1-12, addictions behaviors 1-12 and symptoms of withdrawal 3,13-15. The National Detoxification and Addition Association (NADA) protocol 9-11 and American College of Addictionology and Compulsive Disorders (ACACD) protocols 16-17 seem to be the most effective and are the ones Dr Ivo and Dr John utilize at Summit Chiropractic and Rehabilitation PC.
