X-Ray and Ultrasound are invaluable tools for gaining insight under the skin. Usually serious pathology can be ruled out with a good exam, but images are necessary when it cannot.

At SCR3, we have top of the line x-ray and diagnostic ultrasound at our disposal. We also have transparent pricing so that you know exactly how much you are paying before footing the bill.

X-Ray evaluation

X-Ray

X-rays or radiographs are used to assess the bones and joints. This can help us rule out things like fractures and other serious ailments. We use radiographs only when necessary and indicated in cases like trauma, or when your condition does not respond normally to conservative management. The x-ray unit is digital, so the results appear and are explained to you in real time within only a few minutes. Our charge is $60 per view and we typically take 2-3 shots depending on the injury and its location; we are one of the most reasonable imaging offices in Summit County.

Diagnostic ultrasound

Diagnostic ultrasound is an incredible tool for looking at and assessing the integrity of soft tissues underneath the skin. Ultrasound works by using sound waves and their reflexions to get a glimpse at what is going on in the connective tissues that we cannot ordinarily see. In many cases in which diagnostic ultrasound is used like ankle sprains, shoulder pain, and knee pain; ultrasound is just as sensitive to pathology as an MRI. While it is just as effective is assessing certain condition, it is a fraction of the price. In some cases, such as pulley ruptures in climbers, diagnostic ultrasound is superior to MRI in that we can perform a dynamic exam and stress the tissue while looking directly at them.
